My First Ever TV Interview!

Last Wednesday I walked into my usual WordPress Meetup group, of which I am the host, and was greeted by a News Anchor with Naples News, who was looking to do a tv interview about bloggers in Southwest Florida.  She asked if she could interview me. Being a bit apprehensive about appearing on camera, (wouldn’t you know that was the day I skipped the mascara and didn’t’ do my hair at all) I faced my fear and agreed to do it.

Oh, the struggles of having a European name here in America.

By the way, you’ll see that my name is Anja Carlson.  I decided to use a nom de plume, Ani when I started my blog. Amy the interviewer, mispronounces my name in the video, however. The J is supposed to sound like a Y. It sounds just like Tanya but without the T, I always say.

So with no preparation ahead of time, here is my first interview.  Let me just tell you that I was extremely nervous and I do feel that I could have answered the questions a bit more accurately if I’d been prepared. Not that I’m blaming anyone. Amy the news anchor tried to get ahold of me the day before but her email got sent to the junk folder.

There’s one thing I want to make clear though and that is that I do create recipes 99% of the time, just in the moment, based on my knowledge and experience from years of cooking and baking and watching TV chefs.  I felt that my answer to one of the questions might have made it seem otherwise, do to the fact that I was grappling for something to say. Anyone ever felt that way before? All in all, it was a really nice piece and I’m so proud to have been found by a great TV Anchor when she was looking for bloggers. Hope you enjoy!
